Programme

In the sixth Academy concert Baiba Skride traces her Baltic roots. Pēteris Vasks’s Violin Concerto “Distant Light” is a moving hymn to idealism and love, melancholy and dramatic at the same time. Sad Serenades by Maija Einfelde is also on the programme – music in which expressionist tension and impressionist beauty meet – along with the energetic string poem Passion-Illusion by Erkki-Sven-Tüür.
