Chamber Music Hall

If you ever wanted to play the trumpet in an orchestra or enjoy the sound of the double bass from close quarters, then you have the opportunity to do so right now! Together with two game designers, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra has developed a format in which listeners become orchestra members themselves. Each participant receives their own soundbox and tablet from the 37 musicians with which they can immerse themselves in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20, explore the music and the instruments, and play the piano concerto together with other participants. There is no problem if you have little experience of orchestral playing – the musicians of the MCO will be delighted to help and in short videos tell you about the secrets and tricks of their instruments – and of course about their best musical moments.

The tour starts at 6 pm and ends at 7.45 pm. Afterwards, Leif Ove Andsnes and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto in the Chamber Music Hall. And one thing is certain: you will hear the work in a different way than before – with many exciting and new facets.

Please note: To participate in the tour, a ticket is required for the concert which follows.
