Festival Tour 2019: Salzburg, Lucerne, Bucharest

After the inaugural concerts of our new chief conductor Kirill Petrenko, we start our traditional festival tour. This year, we are performing at the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival and the George Enescu Festival in Bucharest. We will be presenting two programmes: Alban Berg’s “Lulu” Suite with soprano Marlis Petersen as the soloist, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Rundfunkchor Berlin (in Salzburg and Lucerne) and the George Enescu Philharmonic Choir (in Bucharest). The soloists are Marlis Petersen, Elisabeth Kulman, Benjamin Bruns and Kwangchoul Youn. The second programme sees violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja performing Schoenberg’s Violin Concerto followed by Peter Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.
