Easter Festival in Baden-Baden with Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde”

At the 2016 Easter Festival in Baden-Baden, Sir Simon Rattle conducted a work by Richard Wagner for the first time. The title roles in his tragic love story Tristan and Isolde were sung to much acclaim by Stuart Skelton and Eva-Maria Westbroek.

Another suitcase concert at the Gutleuthaus in Baden-Baden. Walter Seyfarth, clarinet, and Rüdiger Liebermann, 1st violin, played Mozart’s clarinet quintet with members of the BJO. A very special guest was Gerda Lambrecht from Mannheim, with whom Walter hast played this quintet 50 years ago for the first time.

Almost as important as the collective concert is the football game between our orchestra and the German National Youth Orchestra. After a little weak period last year due to hail (1-1, we remember), the result was much clearer this year: 6-1 for the Berliner Philharmoniker and rain instead of hail… Here are the goals: youtu.be/Yo7lHUqhMYo
