Violinist Simon Roturier began his musical training at the École Nationale de Musique in Quimper. In 1999, he earned his diploma there and went to Paris, where he trained at the Conservatoire National as a soloist and chamber player. Boris Garlitsky was one of his teachers. From 2007 to 2009 he was a scholar in the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Orchestra Academy (working with Thomas Timm), afterwards studying with Antje Weithaas at the Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule in Berlin and with the Artemis Quartet at Berlin’s Universität der Künste. Simon Roturier has participated in various masterclasses, including with Ulf Hoelscher and the Wanderer Trio. He acquired his first orchestral experience in the chamber orchestra “Les Dissonances” and in the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra.
