Stefan Schweigert, Principal Bassoon

Stefan Schweigert was a pupil of Alfred Rinderspacher and later studied with Klaus Thunemann at the Hanover Musikhochschule. He has appeared as a soloist with the Berliner Philharmoniker, but also with other ensembles including Camerata Bern.

Schweigert has worked on a number of occasions with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and participated in Gidon Kremer’s chamber-music festival at Lockenhaus. He also plays in Sabine Meyer’s wind ensemble and with the Berlin Baroque Soloists. Schweigert has taught in the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Orchestra Academy since 1987.
