Olaf Maninger

Olaf Maninger studied first at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Janos Starker and Maria Kliegel and then continuing his training with Boris Pergamenschikow. Before coming to the Berliner Philharmoniker, Maninger was principal cellist for several months in 1994 with Frankfurt Radio (HR), the position he has held in Berlin with the Philharmonic since 1996.
For a number of years he has represented the interests of his colleagues as a member of the orchestra’s Media Board. Olaf Maninger has been general manager of Berlin Phil Media GmbH since 2008. In this capacity he played a significant role in the development of the Berliner Philharmoniker's Digital Concert Hall. Olaf Maninger is also one of the »12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic«.
