The education department’s creative projects draw on the orchestral repertoire and offer a variety of approaches to the world of classical music. As there are many different approaches, the projects reflect the full range of creative and interdisciplinary possibilities. Whether writing their own compositions or exploring the theme through other art forms, the participants discover their own creative self-expression. Taking Bedřich Smetana’s orchestral cycle Má vlast as its starting point, primary school pupils from Berlin explore the theme of “Berlin, my home” under the direction of orchestral member Martin Stegner. With all creative disciplines open to the pupils, whether art, music, dance drama or film, the results are sure to be as colourful and diverse as Berlin itself!
A small sample of this project can be seen on Friday, 23.05.2014 from 7 pm in the foyer of the Philharmonie.
