In co-operation with the Baden-Baden Festspielhaus and the Deutsche Bank Foundation’s Academy Opera Today, a new Magic Flute for children will be created in Baden-Baden. Young people from the region will help in producing an opera and will experience from their own perspective the melodies and stories of Papageno and Papagena, Sarastro, Tamino and the Queen of Night.
This little version of the great opera, in Andreas Tarkmann’s arrangements, will be played by musicians of the Berliner Philharmoniker under the baton of their colleague Michael Hasel. The principal roles will be taken by vocal students of the conservatories of Baden-Württemberg, while the production team comes from the ranks of scholars of the Academy Opera Today. A creative project for the next generation, exploring exciting new paths.
Dates: 26 March 2013, 2 pm, and 30 March 2013, 11 am, at the Baden-Baden Festspielhaus.
