MusicART – Tableau

In the orchestral piece Tableau Helmut Lachenmann refers to the “physicality of sound” (“Körperlichkeit der Klangobjekte”). In a series of workshops involving painting and music, young students experiment with the transition of colour and forms into sound, leading to a greater understanding of the physicality and synthesis of how we perceive. Led by Matthew Hunter and colleagues, the presentation will immediately precede the orchestra’s performance of Tableau by Helmut Lachenmann.
