Secondary school students are confronted with the musical world of Dmitri Shostakovich through his Symphony No. 14. They explore the dark, explosive and defiant aspects of this work made up of text settings from Rilke, Garcia Lorca, Küchelbecker and Apollinaire. The students tackle the subject of the transitoriness of life, write their own texts and set them to music.
