Kurt Weill’s “sung ballet” typifies the deep and dark ironic social critique of his collaboration with Brecht. This project with The Seven Deadly Sins will involve two secondary schools. Various approaches will include the students writing their own texts and thoroughly investigating the piece’s social themes. These will be expressed musically through songs in one school and through dance and musical elements in the other. Their combined performance will inevitably reflect the dual nature of the main character, Anna, while also serving as a forum for discussion between the two schools.
