High school students, trainees and apprentices and young people doing their military or social service between the ages of 14 and 20 and living in Germany, are invited for the seventh time to submit an original chamber music composition to the Berlin Philharmonic’s Education Department. The instrumentation should include four to six orchestral instruments (no electronic instruments) and be no longer than approx. about 10 minutes. The winners are: Goetz Albert Bienert for his composition pour le type de machine, Fabian Luchterhandt for Drei Nachtwanderungen, Kikan Eleonore Nelle for Fliegendes Wasser and Jan Arvid Prée for Quartett op. 66. The winning compositions will be premiered on 14 December 2012 at 6 pm by members of the Berliner Philharmoniker in the Hermann-Wolff-Saal in a workshop concert.
