Subscriptions

The Berlin Philharmonic Foundation offers two types of subscription series: orchestral and chamber music.

An orchestral concert series includes six concerts per season, of which at least one is conducted by the chief artistic director Sir Simon Rattle. The series are assembled such that you may hear a broad cross-section through repertoire and musical periods; all subscriptions in series A—N include both purely symphonic programmes as well as evenings with symphonic choir, vocal or instrumental soloists. The concerts of series N are always on Saturdays; for all other series, the concerts take place on varying weekdays.

With regard to the chamber music concerts, we have arranged the subscription series (O—Z) thematically. Here one finds, for example, the series »Pianist in Residence« and a series of string quartets. The offerings vary from season to season as does the number of concerts in each series. Furthermore, you have the option of a subscription-by-choice, through which you may select eight concerts from a season.

Applicable to all subscriptions:
Compared to individual ticket purchases, a subscription always offers notable savings. In each case, the subscription always renews itself for another season if it has not been cancelled by 15 June of the current year.
