Philharmonie and Chamber Music Hall
Open House Day at the Berliner Philharmonie is a day full of high points: the Berliner Philharmoniker can be experienced in orchestra and chamber concerts, in rehearsals, workshops, discussion forums, family programmes and education events. In all the building’s rooms and premises, from the music director’s room to the two halls, the foyers and the backstage area down to the basement. There’s no other day on which fans of the Berliner Philharmoniker can get so close to the orchestra musicians: a pleasant exchange with one of the Philharmonic concertmasters, a laugh together with Sir Simon Rattle, exploring the subtleties of Hans Scharoun’s architecture down to its nooks and crannies, having a look at the control centre of the Digital Concert Hall, and of course listening to music in all styles and variants.
At Open House Day (almost) everything is possible. The whole gamut of philharmonic life becomes accessible to interested visitors. And even the little ones will enjoy themselves – that’s ensured by the many activities of the Education department. The musicians and staff of the house will spare no effort to hold an exciting, entertaining, touching and unforgettable day for visitors young and old.
