A forum for musical diversity

The Chamber Music Hall is the little brother of the Berlin Philharmonie – both architecturally and musically. Its tent-like shape and centrally positioned podium for the musicians reflect the concept of the “big” Philharmonie. As a venue for the many chamber music groups of the Berliner Philharmoniker, it presents the multifarious artistic activities of the members of the orchestra beyond their symphonic work. But not only that: The Chamber Music Hall provides a musical forum for other musicians and ensembles, too – and has been doing so for 25 years.

The 25th anniversary of the Chamber Music Hall is a reason for the Berliner Philharmoniker to celebrate. With images, videos and articles, we hope to make you want to find out more about the Chamber Music Hall, its music and its story. Götz Teutsch, former principal cellist of the Berliner Philharmoniker, was one of the first musicians to play in the new hall. In a video, he recalls his impressions at that time. In their contributions, Gerwin Zohlen and Frederik Hanssen give an overview of the construction of the hall and the outstanding musical events that have taken place there. A small picture gallery provides a visual history of the house. Finally, our anniversary advertising campaign "Experience the Original", which includes a series of posters and videos, invites you in a very sensual, playful and innovative way, to come and discover more about the hall and its music.
